Since I’m well in the swing of Christmas shopping, I thought it would be fun to do a few holiday gift guides this year. While my thoughts always go to gifts that travel lovers would want or could use on their next trip, I’d be remiss if I didn’t include some of our favourite non-travel items as well. So over the next few weeks, I’ll share some of our favourite travel items that your family would love this Christmas as well as some of the most popular gifts for each member of your family. Since teens are some of the hardest to shop for, I thought I’d start with our holiday gift guide for teen girls. The guide includes some of Sydney’s favourite gifts over the years plus, a few things she has asked for this year.
When asked what Syd’s favourite travel item was, she quickly said her fanny pack. Often said to be a dupe for the very popular Lulu Everywhere Belt Bag, it is definitely more reasonably priced. Syd actually has this bag in three different colours.
This little jewelry roll is so convenient. It’s super tiny which makes it great for travel or even for going to sleepovers.
3. Wireless Earphones
My teens love music and always seem to have at least one earphone in their ear. We’ve tried many kinds and Apple airpods are definitely the favourite of both Lucas and Sydney. Caiden on the other hand has a tendency to ‘misplace’ things so has expressly said he doesn’t want the more expensive earphones. He really likes the Monster earphones. They go on sale often on Amazon so if your teen is younger or not the best at keeping track of things, this is a great option
When Syd’s hair was longer, she really missed her straightener when we were travelling. Bringing hair electronics isn’t as easy as having an adapter for a different plug when travelling to Europe, you also need to compensate for the voltage. Then we found this. It’s perfect for international travel and it’s super small so it can easily squeeze into her carry-on bag.
I bought this for Syd last year for Christmas and truly had no idea she would love it as much as she does. The saying is on the inside so it doesn’t scream to others and she really likes the thickness of the stainless steel.
8. Electric USB Candle Lighter
Lighting a candle no longer means having a lighter or matches around. This rechargable USB candle lighter is so much safer.
Along the lines of having safe candles, if you don’t want candles lit at all in the house, this is an amazing option. Just put your candle jar underneath (Bath and Bodyworks has some beautiful scents) and let it do its job!
With long hair I always sleep with my hair up and silk or satin wraps are the way to go. Syd uses hers to just throw her hair up in a messy bun.
There are a million kinds of lip gloss around. Sydney really likes this one and the Dior Lip Glow Oil from Dior or Sephora.
You can never go wrong with a gift card especially if you have a teen that loves to read. It’s so hard to pick out a book for them but with a gift card, they can have their own shopping spree.
For the teen girl that loves to travel, this makeup sponge travel case is a necessity. It makes for a great stocking stuffer!
Most of the teen girls I know just love iced coffee. Throwing ice cubes in a regular coffee kind of does the job but its takes quite a bit of ice which waters it down. Introducing this amazing coffee chiller that will ice your teen’s coffee in just a few seconds. Magic!
This set is the dream of so many teen girls. Using their own money to get their nails done can take quite a bit out of their spending money but with this set, they can have beautiful nails at a fraction of the price.
Honestly, I’m not a slipper person but as I’m learning, slippers aren’t just for inside the house these days. These UGG slippers are a huge hit in our house. Super snuggly and easy to slip on to head to class. With the first snowfall, I found myself waterproofing Syd’s! They come in a variety of colours but availability varies depending on size. Check them out at Amazon or UGG
This is a gorgeous bag and any teen girl would love. It comes in a variety of colours so you can choose one that your teen girl will love.
Two of my kids have projector lights in their room. They turn them off for sleep but find them incredibly relaxing when just chilling with a book or their phone.
Whether flying on an overnight flight or curled up in bed at home, this reading light is perfect for the teen girl that loves to read.
Travelling to Europe this past summer, it was clear that these are super popular. Almost every teen girl we saw in the airport was wearing them! They’re great for travel, the beach, etc.
This is by far one of the most popular TikTok trends right now. The Stanley Quencher H2.0 tumbler comes in a variety of sizes and colours but the most popular is the huge 1.2L tumbler. It really does work great at keeping your water cold for several hours.
Syd received a Cooluli Mini Fridge last year for Christmas and uses it all the time. For a great gift, fill it with Sephora face masks, toner and a 4 in 1 jade roller and Gua Sha set all work better when nice and cool.
We have three of these floating around the house and it is truly one of my favourite things when travelling. This charger plugs directly into the wall for charging and has built-in lighting and USB-C cables so it works with android and apple phones. It’s about the same size as a cell phone so easy for your teen girl to throw in her backpack and then, if it isn’t charged, she can just plug it in a wall socket during lunch. Gamechanger!
As most of you know, we’re a huge hockey family. Spending so much time at the rink inevitably means needing some great gear. Syd loves popping a vest on over a fleece or under a winter puffer jacket, depending on how cold it is. It’s also the perfect alternative to a fall or early spring jacket.
While likely not on the top of your teen girl’s wishlist, I love this and wanted to share it. I’ve seen this pop up off and on this year and honestly, I think it’s a great idea especially for teens that are walking to and from work or school on their own.
Sydney received a moon lamp for her last birthday. What better way to create a calm environment for studying that having a moon lamp sitting in the corner of your desk!
I'll definitely update our gift guide for teenage girls as we get closer to the holidays. I'd love to know your thoughts! What are your teen girls favourite gifts? Drop a note in the comment section below.
