Until we visited the Louvre I really didn't know m Until we visited the Louvre I really didn't know much about the Venus de Milos. Did you know that she received her name because she was found on the Greek island of Milos? She is more beautiful in person than in any book. The Louvre is huge but if you plan to visit just a few special works of art, it is an amazing place to spend a few hours, even with young kids! ⠀

Pont des Arts was often known as the Love Lock bri Pont des Arts was often known as the Love Lock bridge in Paris. It was Paris' first metal bridge to cross the Seine.⠀
⠀
Loving couples would write or engrave their names on locks, clip them to the bridge and throw the key in the Seine to pronounce their undying love. The result? The weight of the bridge caused such a problem that locks were regularly cut off. And the Seine had to be dredged to collect the keys so they didn't do harm. Finally, love locks were banned so today, the bridge rests as a beautiful pedestrian bridge that lovers can still wander and stroll ... but without the locks!⠀
